Democratics LOVE blogging about Bigger & Bigger Government
In some ways, I don’t like writing on this Blog.
As a libertarian, I’m alarmed by the near mindless stampede of modern liberals (or neo-liberals) towards even bigger government involvement in our private lives and choices. In principle, there’s little difference between big government neo-liberals and big government neo-conservatives. They can be differentiated only by their goals & “values” — the means to their ends, their principles, are exactly the same. (See Cato.org’s David Boaz’s excellent The Politics of Freedom: Taking on the Left, the Right, and Threats to Our Liberties for more about this).
The different attitudes between liberals, libertarians, & economic conservatives towards big government is reflected in their respective use of the blogosphere and twitter.
Democratics LOVE Bigger & Bigger Government | Twitter Verses Blogs
Democratic bloggers established online political activism, besting their conservative rivals during President George W. Bush’s eight years in office. But conservatives are now finding great success 140 characters at a time [Twitter].
“While it is obvious the progressive blogosphere is superior, we are being out-organized on Twitter,” said Gina Cooper, a blogger who helped organize Netroots Nation, an annual gathering of online liberal activists that met last week in Pittsburgh. “There is some catching up to do on the progressive side.” (CNN, Democratic bloggers admit conservatives have upper hand on Twitter).
This blog is really an answer, a response, to the liberal blogosphere that can’t waste enough productive time and words advocating for bigger and bigger government involvement into the economy and therefore into our private lives.
Democratics write and write and talk and talk about their love for and dreams of bigger and bigger government and the better world bigger and bigger government and taxes will bring. Most economic conservatives, libertarians and socially-liberal conservatives have better, more personally and socially profitable things to do, like creating wealth for all, increasing freedom for all — they’re not concerned with increasing government involvement in the affairs of free men and women.
Democratics use blogs to create mindless & empty headed manifestos promising a progressive utopia. Economic conservatives, libertarians and socially-liberal conservatives use twitter to convey, & organize around, one simple message: leave us the hell alone!
